Believed to have originated in southern China, this easy-to-grow unique beauty has sturdy stems or canes covered in coarse dark fiber. Also known as broadleaf lady palm due to its large thick leaves, with blunt tips and wide segments; it lends an oriental appeal to any room.

1. How do you keep pests away from the plant?
   I am a hardy plant and pests usually don’t bother me. However, neem oil or insecticide spray is best for controlling pests such as spider mites and mealy bugs.
   
   
2. Does the plant require fertilizers?
   I rarely require fertilizer but a balanced fertilizer once in a while is recommended. Over-fertilizing is harmful to me.
   
   
3. How do you propagate this plant?
   The best way of propagating me is by division of the rhizome root system.
